The movie was declared on 27 May 2019, to be coordinated by Divyang Thakkar, created by Yash Raj Films, and featuring Ranveer Singh as the nominal Gujarati man. Singh's first look was delivered on 4 December 2019 to declare that shooting had begun in Mumbai. Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak were given a role as Singh's folks while South entertainer Shalini Pandey was matched inverse him. The Gujarat shooting segment initiated in January 2020 and recording wrapped up on 7 February 2020.
